"Explosive Tennis" for those who Play or Teach Tennis
Tennis players in an organized group on tennis court
What do these pictures have in common?
A group picture of a tennis class on tennis court
Tennis class performing a structured tennis drill
Tennis class practicing tennis drill using beginning T-ball exercise
If you answered the above
question with any of these
answers
:
Now look at the following photographs!
1. There are large numbers of
participants
2. They include pictures of
adults and kids
3. There is organization in each
photo
4. They represent successful
tennis programs
You would be quite right.
Compare the above pictures above with those below!
Do You see a difference?
Skilled tennis looks decidedly different from unskilled.

Why is that?
The differences between the photos above and those below are that the players in the top pictures are
all average players who have been trained within the Advanced Foundation, the “cornerstone” of David Smith’s books
TENNIS MASTERY and COACHING MASTERY. The players below are average players who have been trained using
questionable methods.
Like the group shots at the top of the page,
Dave Smith has created not just successful individuals, but successful teams
and programs too, for over 30 years!

Hello David:

I write to congratulate you on your
new book and TNT newsletter.

I've read your first book Tennis
Mastery with great relish.  You are
welcome to quote me anytime, as
follows:

"David Smith's Tennis Mastery is as
complete a tennis manual as I've
ever read.  I would be failing in my
duty as a tennis educator if I do
not recommend it to tennis players
of all levels...from the beginner to
the aspiring pro".

Subject: Book and two handed
forehand

Hi Dave,
I just received your coaching book
and I can not put it down. I have
been coaching tennis for over
twenty years, and have tons of
books and videos, but this is the
best by far. Any future books or
videos on the horizon?

I am really interested in the two
handed forehand, I have used this
as a training method with students
before and has really worked.
I am a right handed player who
uses a two handed backhand, and
one handed forehand. I have
developed arthritis in my right
shoulder, and my orthopedists said
it is o.k. to keep playing, but he
would not recommend overhand
serving.

My first question is should I serve
underhand?, and I was wondering
if you think that the two handed
forehand would take some of the
stress off my shoulder?

One last question, do you have
any videos on the two handed
forehand?

Thanks,
Paul Engel
